Smith Machine

Smith Machine is a device used to perform training with weights. Its origins date back to the 50s of the twentieth century, when it was invented by Jack LaLanne – known specialist in fitness and nutrition. He was searching for a more universal (comparing to the traditional formula) exercises with barbell. The solution turned out to be the instrument, today known as the Smith Machine. Ironically its name derives not from the name of its creator, but the person who has improved and promoted it. It was Mr Rudy Smith, manager associated with the sports industry and longtime friend of Jack LaLanne.

Advantages

of the Smith Machine

Construction of Smith Machine introduces new possibilities for strength training. This is mainly due to the integration of the sliding mechanism with a barbell and the belaying system. This ensures the stability and smoothness of user movements in both directions, either while standing, sitting and lying down. This solution has made it a truly universal device combining the advantages of exercise with a free barbell and home gym. It gives you freedom when choosing a body position, full control of movement and comfort. What is more, the crane also frees you from the necessity of engaging other people to your training.

Comprehensive

training

Modern Smith Machine models are usually equipped with additional elements. This means that choosing to purchase a Smith Machine, you can get the device for a comprehensive, whole body training. It gives you also a huge freedom of movement – allows you to practice both upper and lower body parts. Combined with instruments, such as: high or low pulley, pec fly and free weight lifting, the Smith Machine has no equal competitor. It is an uncompromised device for people with system approach to building their muscles.
